Yes! 4-7-8 breathing is used to calm the mind, reduce anxiety, and help with sleep.


How to practice 4-7-8 breathing


  1. Find a comfortable position: Sit or lie down in a comfortable position.
  2. Inhale quietly through your nose: Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose for a count of four.
  3. Hold your breath: Hold your breath for a count of seven.
  4. Exhale completely: Exhale forcefully through your mouth for a count of eight, making a "whooshing" sound.
  5. Repeat: This completes one breath cycle. Repeat the cycle three more times for a total of four breaths. 


However, for the past two weeks, because of a big cold, so that I cannot even hold my breath for 2 seconds at all, the trachea has been wheezing and coughing, as soon as I speak, wheezing and coughing.
